Below is a message from member Cecilia Tovar regarding the delivery of the books we collected for the book drive. Thank you all for helping. We are also very appreciative for our partnerships with SIRLS and PCPL for serving as book drop off sites.
Thank you,

Hello Reforma-Tucson,
I want to share with you some news about the Book Drive for San Luis R.C. Sonora, Mexico schools. On October 13th 2008, I delivered the books to two elementary schools Primaria Felix Soria and Primaria Rosario Garcia. I counted all the books including paperback books and the total was 750 which I split between that two schools. Both schools were extremely grateful and excited. I gave a little speech about Reforma and what we do as an organization. The San Luis local TV and newspaper came to Rosario Garcia where they asked me questions about Reforma. The students of Rosario Garcia had a Baile Folklórico to thank Reforma and it was really cute. I want to thank Elizabeth Soltero and Maya Castillo and all those that made the book drive possible. I know that collecting Spanish books was a difficult and long process. However, to see the enjoyment in the children’s faces made it all worthwhile. I am waiting for the newspaper to be sent to me. Then, I will scan it and share it with everybody.
Thanks again for all your hard work,
Cecilia Tovar

Have you voted in the REFORMA Election for 2008?
All those elected will serve on REFORMA’s Executive Committee for 2 years starting after the ALA 2008 Annual Conference in Anaheim, California when our sitting President Mario Ascencio passes the gavel to our current Vice-President/President-Elect Luis Chaparro. The only exception is the Vice-President/President-Elect who makes a 3-year commitment.
